Hi All
Well
the weekend was not disappointing with the Premier Women winning there Porritt
Cup match against against Carlton/Redcliffs 4 - 1.
With Selwyn scored first, which was then followed by a goal from
Carlton/Redcliffs, from a shot to the right of the Selwyn Goalkeeper who
attempted to slide into the oncoming ball, which managed to get underneath her
and into the goal. With the score at 1 all, Selwyn seemed to up the tempo
scoring a further two excellent goal and coming away with a well deserved win,
thus taking them straight through to the Porritt Cup Final.
The Premier Men were not so luck, although they did not disappoint the Selwyn Supporters, after a hard fort game they came away with a 4 all draw.
With the score at 1 nil going into the second half, Carlton/Redcliffs managed to slot an equalizing goal which was then followed by three superb Selwyn goals, make the score 4 - 1. Unfortunately as the game continued Carlton/Redcliffs were awarded two consecutive penalty strokes with only a couple of minutes to go, making the final score 4 all.
Disappointing to Selwyn who had controlled the majority of the game and deserved a win.
